Public meeting – Edinburgh Schools Scandal: Open the Books on PFI/PPP

Common Weal, People Vs PFI and Jubilee Scotland have launched a petition to Open the Books on PFI/PPP in wake of the Edinburgh Schools Scandal: https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/after-the-edinburgh-school-scandal-open-the-books-on-pfi-ppp-contracts
This public meeting will discuss the issues around public-private contracts in Scotland, especially in light of the Edinburgh school closures, and how to progress the campaign going forward.
Edinburgh Southern:
Campaign teams will be leaving the campaign shop throughout the day to campaign so please head down if you have a spare hour.
Eastern:
Doorknocking – 14.30 – Gilburston. Meet at the enterance to Gilburston
Doorknocking – 18.00 – Duddingston. Meet outside Portobello High School
Central:
10.00 – Street Stall. Meet outside the Co-op on Dalry Road

Join the Living Rent Campaign at the Edinburgh May Day march and rally!
There is a long and proud tradition of unity between tenants’ struggles and workers’ struggles. During the Glasgow rent strikes of 1915, when tenants were being taken to court for non-payment, it was the threat of a general strike – the unity of tenants and workers – that forced the government to act.

Edinburgh Momentum will be taking part in Edinburgh’s May Day Celebrations, Look out for our banner and join us on the march aswell as for a drink afterwards.
The annual May Day march assembles 11.30am at Johnston Terrace and sets off at midday marching to a rally at the Pleasance.
